City Pile Pressure On Title Rivals

City pile pressure on title rivals

Rodri sees red as champions win again

Foden and Haaland on target as Forest's hopes fade

Manchester City kept up the pressure in the battle for the 2023-24 Premier League title on Sunday as they claimed a hard-fought 2-0 victory away to Nottingham Forest. Pep Guardiola's side dominated the game from start to finish and took the lead after just 15 minutes through Phil Foden's close-range finish. Erling Haaland doubled the lead midway through the second half, ensuring that City remain hot on the heels of Arsenal at the top of the table.

The win was slightly marred by the sending-off of Rodri in the closing stages, but City held on to claim all three points and move to within two points of the Gunners, who play their game in hand against Fulham on Monday.

Forest, meanwhile, are now without a win in their last five league games and remain in the relegation zone. Steve Cooper's side will need to find some form soon if they are to avoid the drop.
