LORIENT, France (AP) — Kylian Mbappé continued his remarkable season, scoring twice and providing an assist in Paris Saint-Germain's 4-1 victory over Lorient on Sunday. The win puts PSG on the brink of clinching a record-extending 12th French league title.
Mbappé has now scored 42 goals in all competitions this season, further cementing his status as one of the most prolific strikers in world football. His two goals against Lorient included a stunning solo effort, where he dribbled past several defenders before curling the ball into the far corner.
Ousmane Dembele, who has been in excellent form for PSG recently, also scored twice in the match. The French winger's first goal was a well-taken volley, while his second was a tap-in from close range.
Lorient managed to pull one goal back through Mohamed Bamba in the 73rd minute, but it was merely a consolation as PSG cruised to a comfortable victory.
With just two matches remaining in the Ligue 1 season, PSG now need only one more point to secure their record 12th league title. The Parisians will be confident of achieving that goal when they host Reims next Sunday.
