Falx Cerebri and Tentorium Cerebelli: Structures and Attachments
Falx Cerebri
The falx cerebri, a sickle-shaped fold of dura, separates the two cerebral hemispheres and attaches anteriorly to the ethmoid bone's crista galli. Extending posteriorly, it reaches the sagittal plane. The superior surface of its posterior portion blends with the tentorium cerebelli, and this attachment includes the straight sinus.
Tentorium Cerebelli
The tentorium cerebelli, a dural reflection, protects the posterior cranial fossa. It is affixed to the cranial base and joins with the falx cerebri. Its superior surface blends with the falx cerebri.
