As of July 31, 2024, there have been 15 fatal aviation accidents and incidents reported worldwide. The deadliest crash of the year occurred on July 31 when an Aeronáutica Civil de Colombia Cessna 208 Caravan I crashed in Colombia, killing all 10 people on board.

Other Notable Incidents

Other notable aviation accidents and incidents in 2024 include:

• January 2: Japan Airlines Flight 516 collided with a Japan Coast Guard aircraft on the runway at Tokyo's Haneda Airport. All 379 people on board the JAL flight survived, but five people on the ground were killed.
• March 15: An Airbus A350 passenger plane collided with a coast guard aircraft on the runway at Hong Kong International Airport. All 379 people on the Airbus flight survived, but five people on the ground were killed.

The causes of these accidents and incidents are still under investigation.
